This SPT-1 Wire is great for making custom extension cords or Light Strands. SPT-1 products are often used in small duty household appliance applications such as lamps, lighting or chargers clocks, radios and fans, and they are constructed in accordance with UL standards. It has a 300-volt maximum voltage rating and features bare conducting copper wires. Our SPT-1 Wire is water-resistant, sunlight-resistant and designed to withstand severe environmental conditions. Our SPT-1 Wire also withstands the exposure to oil, acids, alkalies, heat, flame, moisture and chemicals.

5) What is the Difference Between SPT-1 and SPT-2 Wire

In general, the difference between SPT-1 and SPT-2 is the thickness of the insulation. SPT-1 is .03” and SPT-2 is .045”. That’s the only difference physically between the two ratings. SPT-1 is a lower cost than SPT-2, which does make it more appealing, especially to pro installers.
