Quality Assurance
The company always puts quality and the customer first. The factory has passed the ISO 9001-2015 quality system certification. Overmolding is not as easy as normal moulding process. To make quality of overmolding parts and meet our customers requirement, we have the best strained team and strict quality control procedures:
1. Tool drawing Design review and update (Mould flow Analysis will be provided during the overmold design period)
2. Design validation and verification
3. Strict IQC for all of raw material
4. First mold trial Inspection
5. Checking electrodes by CMM measurement machine before EDM
6. Full dimensions measurement report
7. Dimension adjustment inspection before next mold trial
8. Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
9. Projector machine

FAQ
Q1: What is the overmolding?
A: Overmolding is the process of adding a second layer of plastic over a premolded plastic part, often referred to as the substrate. Overmolding is usually done with a material that is softer and more flexible than the substrate.
Q2: What is the difference between Overmolding and Insert molding?
A: Insert molding and overmolding are similar processes. Just as with overmolding, insert molding is used to give the substrate some additional features that improve its function or properties. Insert molding involves placing a metallic part—such as a bushing, fastener, clip, or pin—into a mold and then injecting plastic so that it surrounds a portion of the metallic part and forms a single unit.
Q3: What is the application of Overmolding and Insert molding and their advantages?
A: The application of the finished part determines whether insert molding or overmolding is the preferred technique. Both technologies offer the following benefits:
- Insert molded or overmolded parts are stronger and more durable than similar parts made by mechanically assembling individual units.
- Both processes are cost-effective as there are no secondary assembly steps.
- Molding avoids the use of adhesives.
Q4: What are the differences between Overmolding and 2K injection molding?
A: - Overmolding is suitable for some small-scale production compared to 2k injection molding, which is mostly large-scale production.
- When overmolding, you can only overmold metal with plastic, a few cases of plastic and plastic. While In 2K injection molding, there are a variety of material that can be used as molding substance or molded on.
-With the over molding process, for another process to happen, the material used to mold must get cold to be removed whereas. With 2K injection molding it is different. The polymer is usually still hot and flexible; hence more operations can still be carried out.
Q5.What information is needed for a quote inquiry?
1) 3D drawing with stp. format (preferred)
2) 2D drawing for with detailed specification and requirement
3) Order Q’ty
However, don't worry if you don't have any drawings. Just let us know and we can help you to start your ODM project with the information or samples you have on hand.
Q6: How long will it take for us to get a quotation?
A: After receiving the details (your 2D / 3D drawings or samples), we normally will respond to you within 24H and 2 days in the holiday.
Q7: Do you provide samples? Is it free or extra?
A: Yes, we can provide free samples, but not the freight.
Q8: How long does it take to have the first samples of plastic injection molding parts?
A: The first sample will be available once the plastic injection mold is completed. We will sent the sample to you via express service (FedEx, DHL or UPS). Normally, it will reach you within 3-5days.
