Q: What is PLA?
A: PLA is a biodegradable plastic initials of poly lactic acid. English full name is Polylactic acid.
PLA poly (lactic acid) is a polymer obtained by polymerization of lactic acid as the main raw material. Lactic acid comes from corn, cassava and other raw materials. Poly (lactic acid) is an ideal green polymer material because its production process is pollution-free and the product can be biodegraded to realize recycling in nature.
Q: What is the advantages of PLA materials?
A: 1. Good biodegradability, after use can be completely degraded by microorganisms in nature, the final formation of carbon dioxide and water, no pollution of the environment, will not cause greenhouse effect.
2. Good mechanical and physical properties, suitable for blowing, thermoplastic and other processing methods, processing convenient, widely used. It can be used to process all kinds of plastic products from industrial to civil, packaged food, fast food lunch box, non-woven cloth, industrial and civil cloth.
3. Good compatibility and degradability. Poly (lactic acid) is also widely used in the field of medicine, such as the production of disposable infusion appliances, surgical suture lines, and so on, low molecular poly (lactic acid) as drug release packaging agents.
4. Polylactic acid (PLA) has the good tensile strength and the degree of stretch, polylactic acid also can produce all kinds of ordinary processing methods, such as: melt extrusion molding, injection molding, blown film forming, foaming molding and vacuum forming, and widely used polymer have similar forming condition, furthermore it also has the same as the traditional film printing performance.
